Cunning
There flies an albatross by the bow,
passing from my arrow
And I hear the shouts of regret from within and all around
And I saw crewmates picked off the ship one by one
And the bird, I wore around my neck,
reminding my mistakes would never be undone
No one else left to blame but me
But me
Floating in the antarctic sea
I am so blue that I’ll blend cozily
---
[Part V]
My lips were wet, my throat was cold;
my garments all were dank;
sure, I had drunken in my dreams,
and still my body drank.
I moved--and could not feel my limbs:
I was so light--almost
I thought that I had died in sleep,
and was a blessed ghost.
---
Wasting time on where I went,
dreaming of what I could or would be
But I’m busy bending backwards for my mind that’s wreaking havoc
And I wonder if I could hide myself in a submarine confined in frozen ice
Reaching a rimy paradise once I’m able to take control back into my life
No one else left to blame but me
But me
Floating in the antarctic sea
I am so cold that I’ll blend cozily
---
[Part VI]
It raised my hair, it fanned my cheek
Like a meadow-gale of spring--
It mingled strangely with my fears
Yet it felt welcoming
[Part VII]
[I] went like one that hath been stunned,
And is of sense forlorn:
A sadder and a wiser man,
[I] rose the morrow morn.
